Most common method of forced entry

Broken doorjamb after being kicked

After installing Break-In Barrier

Forced Entry

Most burglaries occur during the day between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. when no one is home. Most home invasions occur at night between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. when people are at home.

According to the F.B.I., the most common forced entry method is to simply kick in your door. Most doorjambs are not reinforced and are easily broken with one swift kick. This allows intruders to enter your home in seconds before neighbors can see them and before you can react.

Standard Locks Are Ineffective

Deadbolts and standard locks do not provide security for your home. The weakest point on any standard entry door is the wooden frame. When a door is kicked from the outside, all the force is transferred to the doorframe that surrounds the doorknob and the deadbolt. There is less than an inch of wood protecting you from an intruder. This is an ineffective barrier and intruders know it.

Keep Intruders Out

Intruders are deterred if they have to take too much time or make too much noise to enter your home because this increases their chances of being caught. If it is too difficult to enter a home, most intruders will move on to an easier target.

Break-In Barrier gives you the critical edge to discourage and deter criminals…TIME. It stops intruders if they try to kick in your door and keeps them out. If you are home, this time can be used to call 911 or take other measures to protect yourself and your family.

Security System Companion

Security Systems are great ways of alerting you after someone breaks in. The problem is that the intruder may already be inside your home when you are alerted. The Break-In Barrier is a great companion to any home security system. It can keep intruders from entering your home any time of the day.

Create A Physical Barrier

Break-In Barrier is made of 14-gauge high strength cold rolled steel. This steel plate is screwed through the doorjamb and into the studs with nine 3.5” steel screws to provide added strength. After installing the Break-In Barrier doorjamb reinforcement plate, the force of kicking the door is transferred to the steel plate and the studs. This provides a physical barrier strong enough to keep intruders out of your home.

Easy Do-It-Yourself Project
